One Ticket Sold in New Jersey Wins the $847 Million Powerball Jackpot
It is the ninth-largest jackpot in Powerball history and the second won this year. Where the ticket was sold hasn't been announced.

A single ticket sold in New Jersey matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing to win an estimated $847 million jackpot, Powerball said on Thursday, November 5. The winning numbers were 15, 34, 41, 53 and 56, with a Powerball of 21. It is the ninth-largest jackpot in the game's history and the second-largest of 2026, after a $1.04 billion jackpot won with a ticket sold in Illinois on August 12, according to Powerball. Officials had not said where in New Jersey the ticket was sold.
The advertised $847 million is the total of 30 annual payments over 29 years; a winner can instead take a smaller lump-sum cash option, and both are taxed. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. With the jackpot won, Powerball's next drawing, on Saturday, November 7, starts over at an estimated $20 million; Friday's Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $505 million.
